Implementation Services
Daman’s unique combination of technical excellence, industry experience and business understanding go into every implementation service we provide.
Backed by a thorough assessment of both technology requirements and business goals, Daman professionals can design and execute implementations across a range of data management, data warehouse and business intelligence (BI) initiatives.
Daman implementations are distinguished by certain key factors that help support the immediate and ongoing success of the initiative. These factors include:
Professional account management
The foundation for a successful implementation begins with how the Daman account management team and the client define the project. We know that success follows when client and consultant fully understand each other, expectations are clearly communicated, project scope is well defined, and respective roles and responsibilities are well articulated. Our account managers have more than a decade of experience in the data management field, and they understand which issues to address while establishing specific project expectations and parameters.
Well-balanced project teams
For any Daman engagement team, having the requisite skills for the job is a given. Equally important is the proper blend of talent – how we complement client resources with our own capabilities and how we can adapt to client culture and work practices. Creating the right team is an art, and we’re masters of every step in the process. We also offer team creation as a service to our clients – helping them establish the optimal organizational structure and identify best players to achieve their data management and BI goals.
A commitment to quality
Solution quality is best addressed by the repeatability of process and measurement as well as the careful management of the project’s outcome. Daman’s assurance of quality is based on a three-pronged approach.
1. Established methodologies and processes. Our implementation methodologies have been continuously refined based on experience and industry best practice over the last 15 years. Our methods and processes are documented, standardized and integrated into corporate practice. These are further complemented by development standards by which implementation deliverables are tested. As much as possible, we use automation tools to leverage standard processes and ensure compliance.
2. Compliance. A strong quality program requires support for agreed-upon standards and procedures. Compliance to our standard methods and processes is supported through a series of activities. These include:
- Formal training of all staff in defined methods and measurement, ensuring a common vehicle and language to focus team efforts and drive results.
- Program and project definition, including broadly adopted and project-specific operating guidelines, methods, design standards and conventions.
- Ongoing peer and design lead review, with formal audits.
- Ongoing metric-based measurement of defined goals.
- Project postmortem, assessment of compliance, team feedback and recommendations for process improvement.
- Ongoing education.
3. Monitoring and management. The third pillar of effective quality programs is strong project management accompanied by effective and ongoing communication, well-defined requirements and strong change control processes.
Our techniques adopt Project Management Institute (PMI) standards but modify processes to reflect the realities of fast-paced, iterative projects. Key aspects include communication, requirements management, schedule and budget management, risk management and issue resolution, client reviews and deliverable acceptance.
